Why Eyeprentice?
What happens after residency is where everything really counts. Dr. Robert Weinstock speaks to a gap we all know exists: new surgeons stepping out on their own, expected to deliver at a high level from day one, often without a safety net. Eyeprentice was built to change that. It’s not just another year of training, it’s a bridge. A space where young #ophthalmologists can slow down, ask questions, refine their surgical judgment, and learn directly from surgeons who have already navigated the complications, the tough cases, and the real-world decisions that don’t show up in textbooks. It’s about seeing volume, understanding nuance, and developing instincts with mentorship right there, not after the fact. Because the goal isn’t just to produce confident #surgeons. It’s to reduce avoidable complications, ease the pressure of those early years, and ultimately protect patients. If we can help the next generation learn those lessons in a guided environment instead of on their own, we’ve done something meaningful. That’s what #Eyeprentice is about.
