Our Story

For eyecare, by eyecare.

iD Social didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a few physicians who wanted to put real eyecare knowledge where their colleagues actually spend their time, which is online. Not to chase clout. To teach.

How it started

A few physicians, one shared frustration

The best insights in eyecare were stuck inside lecture halls. Brilliant talks given from the podium to a few hundred people, and then they were gone. Meanwhile, the conversations that shaped patient care were happening on phones, in feeds, in between cases.

So a small group of ophthalmologists and optometrists got together with a simple question. What if we brought that podium online, and did it right?

Not to become influencers.
To educate.

That difference is everything. iD Social was never about the follower count. It was about respecting the audience, meaning physicians, residents, and the whole care team, with content that informs instead of performs.

The insight

Attention spans are shrinking. Great science shouldn't get lost because of it.

People scroll in seconds. So the physicians behind iD Social asked how to take a 45-minute talk from the podium and turn it into something you'd actually stop for. Short, sharp, and accurate.

  • The knowledge from the podium, distilled into minutes.
  • Built for the feed, where your colleagues already are.
  • Made to be watched, not scrolled past.

Built with the physician in mind

Every decision runs through one filter. Does this help a doctor learn something they can use? That's how iD Social was born, and it's still the standard.

Educate

We take the science from the podium and turn it into content that actually teaches. Clear, clinical, and worth a colleague’s time.

Inform

We keep the field current on the pipeline, the data, and the techniques that shape how we care for patients.

Stay Accurate

Every video is physician-led, so the information is right before it goes live. Credibility comes first.

The whole field

Optometry and ophthalmology, side by side

“For eyecare, by eyecare” means the whole team. From the optometrist's chair to the surgeon's podium, iD Social gives every corner of the field a voice and a platform to teach from.

Recognition

The work is getting noticed

What began as a passion project among physicians has grown into award-recognized work, including being named an MM+M Awards 2025 Finalist. It's proof that content built to educate can hold its own on the industry's biggest stage.
