What happens to your eyes during a workout?

Your #eyes are working just as hard as you are in the gym 👀💪 Heavy lifting doesn’t just build muscle, it can temporarily spike pressure inside your body, and that can show up in your eyes too. Here’s what’s actually happening: • That red spot after a lift? Could be a subconjunctival hemorrhage (a tiny broken blood vessel) • Adrenaline kicks in → pupils dilate → more light sensitivity, glare, halos • Faster breathing + airflow = tear evaporation → dry, uncomfortable contacts The key takeaway: Most of this is normal. That “subconjunctival heme” might look scary, but it’s usually harmless and resolves on its own. 🚩 When to pay attention: If it keeps happening, or you have underlying conditions like glaucoma—it’s worth getting checked.
