Mites on your eye?

Mites on your eyelashes? What is that? Let’s talk #Demodex. Demodex blepharitis is an inflammation of the #eyelid margins associated with Demodex mites. These tiny parasitic mites live on human skin and can be found in hair follicles and sebaceous glands, particularly around the eyelashes. Demodex blepharitis often goes undiagnosed because its symptoms can be similar to other forms of blepharitis or ocular conditions. To manage this condition an #eyecare professional may recommend: ✴️ Lid hygiene: Cleaning the eyelid margins to remove mites and their debris. ✴️ Topical medications: Antibiotics, antiparasitic agents, or steroids may be prescribed to reduce inflammation and control mite populations. ✴️ Warm compresses: Applied to the eyes to help loosen scales and debris. ✴️Omega-3 fatty acid supplements: Which can help alleviate symptoms by improving overall eyelid health.
