Managing Floaters
Visually significant #floaters can be truly disruptive, even when visual acuity looks good on a chart. Dr. Jeff Banas highlights the importance of recognizing when a floater is more than a minor annoyance and how to guide patients through the available options. He reminds us that giving patients time to neuro-adapt is reasonable, but ongoing symptoms that interfere with daily vision deserve attention. Treatment choices can include YAG vitreolysis, traditional vitrectomy, or limited vitreous removal (LVR), depending on the location, safety, and severity of the floater. The takeaway: Don’t ignore these patients. Modern care offers real solutions, and patient satisfaction can be incredibly high when the right intervention is chosen. #optometry #ophthalmology #eyecare
