(Can cause large hashtag#iris shifts during surgery, leading to post-op cell) š©ŗ Exam Tips for Post-Operative Inflammation: Is there cell? Is there flare? Are the cells pigmented or not? On gonio, are there any signs of fragments in the angle? Are there any signs of vitreous strands or peaked iris? š§ For Post-Op CME in Diabetic Patients: Consider doing a fluorescein angiogram (FA) to check for optic nerve leakage, indicating post-op inflammation (Irvine Gass Syndrome) vs. diabetic macular edema. š Treatment Plan: Start on steroid and nonsteroidal agent QID, reassess in one month.
