Eye Drop Recall with Dr. Alison Early

There have been a series of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recalls on ophthalmic drops recently. In response to the rising number of recalls and cases of consumer injury and fatality in 2023, the #FDA has released an updated draft guidance addressing specific quality considerations for ophthalmic drug products. If you recall from last year, numerous over-the-counter lubricating eye drops and artificial tears were recalled by the FDA due to concerns about contamination and unsafe manufacturing practices.
