Treating GA early

One of the biggest questions in GA right now: are we waiting too long to treat? In this clip, Dr. Priya Vakharia discusses why many patients with geographic atrophy are still being treated only when symptoms become more noticeable. The challenge? Current therapies slow progression, but they don’t stop it. That’s why earlier conversations around treatment are becoming increasingly important, especially in non-foveal disease. As treatment options continue to evolve, identifying the right patients earlier may play a bigger role in preserving long-term visual function.
