Opening up your own practice. Pt. 2- Dr. Shanika Esparaz
Dr. Esparaz shared with us things to consider when opening up your own practiceđ˘ last month. The next step in opening your own practice is figuring outâ if you want to buy into an existing practice or start from scratch. There's not a right or wrong choice as to which route to choose. They each have their own pros and cons. Pros of buying into an existing practice: â¨You have a lot less initial overhead as staff and equipment are already into place. â¨You have a build in referral network in place and can be very busy from the start. Cons of buying into an existing practice: â¨You may have to re-write some of the vision and values of the practice culture to match your mission and identify for why you wanted to start your own practice â¨You may have older equipment in place or equipment you don't necessarily want to use Pros of starting from scratch: â¨You get to design the look and feel of your practice. You can buy new or lightly used equipment and use the technology you choose. Cons of starting from scratch: â¨The initial overhead can be very high. â¨You may be slower at the start with patient volumes and procedures since you are creating new referral networks. What are your thoughts? Have you opened your own #practice? Which route did you take?
